Group Marth inaugurates one of Luxembourg's first infrastructures combining an ultra-fast charging station, battery storage and a renewable energy community

Kehlen, 09 July 2026 – On Thursday, 9 July, Group Marth officially inaugurated its new 250 kW ultra-fast charging station, integrated into Voltizy Community, its renewable energy community. The installation is among the first in Luxembourg to combine photovoltaic generation, battery energy storage, renewable electricity sharing and ultra-fast electric vehicle charging within a single integrated ecosystem.

The inauguration brought together around thirty guests, including representatives of public authorities, customers, partners, members of Voltizy Community and stakeholders actively involved in Luxembourg's energy transition.This new infrastructure is part of a long-term vision that Group Marth has been pursuing for more than a decade: producing energy locally, consuming it intelligently and maximising the value of every kilowatt-hour of renewable electricity.
The installation includes:
a 250 kW ultra-fast charging station, capable of charging two vehicles simultaneously at up to 150 kW each;
a battery energy storage system;
an extension of the site's photovoltaic installation, bringing annual solar production to approximately 100,000 kWh.
Today, the building consumes around 210,000 kWh of electricity each year. The energy generated on site is first used to meet the building's own electricity needs. Whenever production exceeds real-time consumption, the surplus is shared with members of Voltizy Community, enabling locally generated renewable electricity to be used more effectively.
The new ultra-fast charging station further strengthens this energy ecosystem. Beyond supporting the growth of electric mobility, it creates an additional source of electricity demand within the energy community, increasing opportunities to share renewable electricity whenever surplus production is available.
Members of Voltizy Community will also benefit from preferential charging rates outside office hours, during evenings and throughout weekends.

The project represents a total investment of approximately €410,000, including the ultra-fast charging station, the battery energy storage system, the expansion of the photovoltaic installation and a second ultra-fast charging station installed at Soleuvre.
For Group Marth, this project also demonstrates the importance of public support schemes in accelerating the energy transition. Government incentives enable companies to invest in innovative energy infrastructures which, when combined with initiatives such as renewable energy communities, strengthen local renewable energy production, promote electric mobility and create new value for both citizens and businesses.
Through this project, Group Marth continues to pursue a pragmatic vision of the energy transition, based on concrete, local and scalable solutions that contribute to a more resilient and sustainable energy system.
